Description:

Weapons of Mass Distraction

Distractions and interruptions are causal factors in nearly 25% of motor vehicle accidents in the United States; however, statistics are not readily available for these same causal factors in general aviation accidents.  Yet, we know that distractions & interruptions occur on nearly every flight, affect all pilots, and can compromise safety in and around our airplanes.  This guided discussion will address recognition of common distractions and offer some coping strategies for returning our focus to the task(s) at hand – Flying the Airplane.

Come join the discussion with your fellow aviators for ways to recognize distractions/interruptions and cope with them before they adversely affect the safety of your next flight.  This seminar will offer you 1 Knowledge Credit for your WINGS phase and will serve as the monthly IMC Club meeting.  Your knowledge & experience is valuable to your fellow aviators; please participate and share your knowledge so we all become safer aviators.
