Good morning everyone –
The South East Ramp is fine. Gates are functional and there is no damage to report. The Airport will reopen at 1:00 p.m. today with commercial operations resuming tomorrow morning (other than Allegiant repositioning aircraft later today). I apologize as it appears that the update I sent out yesterday did not actually leave our server.
I am on-site and only ask that everyone be extra mindful of parking in any grass areas as they are all very saturated.
Dorian is moving away from Central Florida and its effect on Central Florida will be diminishing over the next several hours. The storm will pose a threat to the Carolinas later this week and/or Nova Scotia by the end of the week.
Unless any significant changes happen, this will be the last update for this storm.
Local forecast from the National Weather Service:
Today
A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 85. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tonight
A 20 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 76. West wind around 10 mph.
